BASIC Environment Minister Meet

27th BASIC Ministerial Meeting on Climate Change held in this historic city of Delhi.

During meeting discussion on ensuring that the Paris Agreement Work Programme (PAWP) is prepared in accordance with the agreed principles of Equity and Common But Differentiated Responsibilities and Respective Capabilities (CBDR-RC) as enshrined in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and its Paris Agreement.

Meeting highlighted on anchoring the COP 24 outcomes in the vision of equity will help deliver climate justice not only to the present but also to our future generations.

BASIC as a group decided to continue to push for developed countries on their earlier commitment to providing $100 billion annually from 2020

COP 24 scheduled in Katowice, Poland from December 2 to 14 will see representatives from at least 190 countries, think-tanks, and activists

COP 24 will specify on a setting the Rule Book of how countries will agree to take forward commitments taken at the 21st COP in Paris in 2015.
