UPSC frames qns in this manner… if u pay closer attention, u will notice the qn has 2 parts:
part 1: despite abatement measures , ganga is still polluted
part 2: suggest other measures to clean Ganga

ur answer is near perfect with regard to the 2nd part( the only problem being lack of conclusion)
but u failed to address part 1 i.e. what measurs have been taken so far and what is the result of those measures.
With this in mind try answering the qn again.

GENERAL NOTE: every statement on the qn paper has a raison d’etre- a reason to be there. Otherwise the qn would have been ” Suggest measures to reduce pollution in Ganga (20 mks)”

it is hypocritical of me to review this qn as i hav not answerd it myself…but pls forgive my hypocrisy for the greater good i.e. u clearing the exam

1-ur intro is alright.
2- ur body should give a brief about ports i.e. just a few lines
3- the emphasis is on INTERNATIONAL TRADE through ports. I believe that u understood the demand of the qn but didn’t have neccessary points. If someone read ur answer he would feel the qn was about classification of ports( I understand that the ncert did not have adequate content for this qn)

verdict: u have not addressed the demand of the qn.
guidelines for the answer:
0– maybe u could have intro as a historical aspect i.e. how ancient cities were located next to ports
1–Singapore is not very rich in resources but it is economically sound due to its location on the malacca strait
2–other ports that are flourishing cities: Amsterdam, Manchester, Shanghai, India(Kolkatta, Mumbai, Chennai, Kochi, Mangaluru)
3–95% of exports by volume from India are through ports
4–Connection between India and Chabar port can unlock economic potential for India in Europe and central asia

( hope my comments are not overly critical…pls stay motivated…)

good answer. In my opinion , it would be better if you avoided crowding the map with the names of the ports. Otherwise the map is Good. Intro, body, structure and presentation are good. u r still missing out on conclusion. Pls conclude. I can’t stress this enough

overall good answer. U have done a wonderful job with prsentation and examples

suggestion:
1– avoid ‘economic and political reasons ‘ in the intro; those 2 words killed the definition
2–Emphasis is on SIGNIFICANCE; give more points( political unity, friendship among nations, alternative to sea and air travel, cultural mixing, decongesting roads….)
3–in significance 2 points are similar in ur answer: Fast and safe v/s shorter and secure
4– CONCLUDE
